A Whisper Of Christmas

Well, I'm beginning to get this little blog all spruced up for the Christmas season. I've started to feel a little Christmas-y since the cold arctic air rolled in yesterday. Shhhh..... don't tell, I started listening to my favorite Christmas station on Pandora- I know, I just couldn't help myself! Christmas is such a joy-filled season. I'm still holding off on all decorating for Christmas around the house though until Thanksgiving has passed. Living simply and intentionally means slowing it all down and enjoying every season. Thanksgiving is such a special time, so I'll wait for it to pass before I begin any Christmas decorating.

What I am doing right now is organizing my Christmas decorations and figuring out how I'd like things to look around here to honor the Christmas season. I'm busy sewing up some new pillows in fun vintage fabrics and red gingham- love gingham! I'm going to continue with using all natural elements {this means FREE stuff y'all} this year and keep the decorating clean and simple. You'll be seeing lots of evergreen and whites and pine cones used in lots of places. The word for this Christmas is SIMPLE. Doesn't that just sound so pleasing- simple. Now, say that with me real slow like, s-i-m-p-l-e.

I've added some new Christmas banners to my Etsy shop  and I'm going to be using lots of those in my decorating here too. I've used book pages, whites and traditional reds and greens to create some star banners that you can use to decorate a shelf, mantle or even string on your Christmas tree. I've also added some gift certificates to the store that can be purchased for those folks that you just aren't sure what they want this year.

Join me Monday and I'll be sharing a new tradition that our family is going to be starting on December 1st- The Jesse Tree. If you'd like to embark on this journey with us, you'll have plenty of time to research or purchase some books on the subject. I'm so excited about celebrating Christmas using the Jesse Tree! We're going to be using Ann Voskamp's book "The Greatest Gift".

Have a fabulous weekend y'all and until next time...... AE

I'm At "Blissful And Domestic'" Today

Good morning and happy Friday y'all! This is a really special day for me because I'm doing a guest post over at "Blissful And Domestic". I've had so much fun re-doing our front porch for fall and I'll be sharing all the details over on Danielle's blog, so follow this link to read more....{Blissful And Domestic}

And in other news..... some more cutie items in the shop! I've added these cheerful little oilcloth flags to my Etsy shop. They're great for adding a little bit of fun to your party or even just spicing up your everyday. They really dressed up my little old colander filled with pine-cones in my dining area. I love bringing the outside in for fall and winter decorating and these little flags added just the perfect little whimsical touch. I just adore whimsy! Also, working on some seasonal banners for the shop right now, so stay tuned!

Have a beautiful weekend in your little neck of the woods y'all! See you right back here Monday morning!

New Towels In The Shop

I've not put nearly enough time into my little Etsy shop. I've been so preoccupied with way too many fun things.......has that ever happened to you? Fall has just swept me away. I get really crafty in the fall and it just takes over, but I digress.

Now, back to the Etsy shop......... I've added some fun little kitchen towels to the shop. These are made with 100% cotton flour sack towels- my absolute favorite kind of towel. This time of year, I do even more entertaining than usual and fresh towels in the kitchen, are a must. These also make GREAT hostess gifts. I love keeping little gifts on hand that I can give on the spur of the moment.

The holidays are fast approaching and I've got my fingers crossed that I'll add some fun and colorful things to the shop soon for Christmas! But until then, go check out these cutie towels {The Etsy Shop}. Thanks y'all!

My, How Time Flies

Well, it's officially July! Writing here on this blog, reminds me how fast a month blurs by. Do you notice that?  The older I get, one month just seems to run right into the next. Do you feel that too? Having this blog really helps me to slow things down and appreciate each moment more. I'm so grateful to have this place where I come to write and share. This blog is a true blessing. I've also met some of the sweetest women in the world, fellow blogger's, who journal about their lives too. Yep, such a blessing!

June was mighty busy over here and in case you missed anything, here's some highlights. Come on along with me as I take a little walk down memory lane!

The first week of June I shared a five part series on How To Survive And Thrive On One Income. This series reached so many folks and I truly hope that it spares someone from making many of the mistakes that I made!

We made a scarecrow for the garden that is working so far{fingers crossed}! We haven't had any critters steal any veggies yet and we have little baby watermelons growing fast out there.....

I learned that sometimes just celebrating with family is ENOUGH in The Hostess With The Mostess, and that it's mega important to take care of our friendships in I'll Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

I opened my Etsy Shop! Still doing my little happy dance over here!!!

I shared our son's new house and our favorite t.v. show. And the most popular post this month, Easy 5 Step Window Box Tutorial. This post was featured at Herbs And Oils Hubs and on Motivation Monday! Wow, so honored!

Whew, and that's just some highlights of June! If you missed anything, feel free to go back and browse! I haven't written in a journal in so many years and I'm truly having the time of my life jotting all these moments down. Thank you all ever so, for allowing me to ramble on weekly about our little life! Have A Blessed Holiday Week Everyone!

Etsy Shop Now Open!

Welcome everyone! I FINALLY finished uploading all the goodies to my Etsy Shop! Aaaaand, I'm still sewing away on several more vintage pillow covers. Here's a sneak peak at the fabrics......

Aren't they just the cutest? I have such an affinity for all things vintage! I'm crushing big time on all things camper right now so I'm madly in love with that vintage camping print. I hope you will be too! I also have a new passion for oilcloth. I made an oilcloth cushion cover for our front porch and I'm just lovin' it! If the cats happen to sleep in the chair, it's a breeze to just wipe clean.

And, if your oilcloth items are kept out of direct sunlight, you can leave them up outside ALL season. Check out my last post here to see my oilcloth banner in action at our house. Love me some low maintenance pretties! Come on by the shop for lots more oilcloth creations won't you?. When you have some spare time, do come by and browse awhile, just follow the link to The Little Farm Diary Shop. Have a spectacular and beauty filled weekend everyone!
