Winter's Morning

Some mornings I wake up earlier than usual. Little Matthew is always already up. Still dark outside, everything's so quiet and peaceful. I'll often let the girls sleep in just so I can linger in the quiet for as long as possible, not that they're all that noisy, but the three of them combined, well let's just say it's anything but peaceful!

As I sip my morning coffee, I love looking out the windows. Winter's frost covering everything, the warm breathe of the cows rising above their heads. Funny how they never seem to mind the cold. The roosters already crowing signaling the impending arrival of morning.

Today was a cinnamon bun and second cup of coffee kind of morning. Parking myself in the living room next to the warm glow of the fire, fully absorbing the solitude.

Matthew keeps himself busy in the early morning hours with Lego play. Grateful this morning for a huge box of building blocks saved from our oldest son.

This is the kind of morning when I remind myself how much I have to be grateful for. One of my favorite quotes comes to mind, Gratitude turns what we have into enough.  That's wonderful isn't it? Really puts a proper perspective on my morning. Until next time dear ones....
