Thoughts On A Thursday

I'm not sure why, but lately I've caught myself doing an awful lot of reflecting. I'm very aware of the new sounds brought on by the fall season. The rustling of the leaves as a gentle breeze blows through the trees, a screech owl's evening call in our front maple tree, the sound of the acorns plummeting to the ground like little missiles. My awareness has increased. I'm more in the now.

I like to think that this is evidence of continuing to grow in a lifestyle of living simply. This entire year, actually beginning last Christmas season, my life has slowed and I've focused intently on a simpler lifestyle, learning to find beauty in every moment.

We can miss so much in our hurried lifestyles. Are you overly busied each day, always looking forward to what tomorrow holds? Maybe it's time to intentionally slow it all down. Take a moment to smell those proverbial roses. You'll be glad you did, just sayin'.

Y'all be sure and pop back in tomorrow for a some Fall Inspiration, yep, it's that time of year again, it's a little Fall Home Tour!

  4. I'm doing this as well. I have actually realized blogging itself is taking it's toll on me and my little family so going through the end of the year and into the next I plan on scaling back a ton and taking every day slowly and enjoying the precious days with my family. It has been a tough decision but so important. I appreciated these words today...it was like confirmation I am doing the right thing :)

    1. Alice, blogging or any kind of job really, can surely get in the way of our heart's true calling, our families. If any endeavor, even a pleasurable one, becomes too great of a distraction, and we find it hard to stay on track, we would be wise to scale back. You have such a precious blessing in your family, guard it fiercely. You are doing the right thing and you are not alone, I'm right there with you! Thanks for dropping by!

  5. Hi, I hopped over from Thoughts from Alice. I love your sweet garland! I agree that we need to slow down and see and hear the beauty around us. I don't have much problem doing this now that I'm older. But busy mom's must take time! I have a link party, Share Your Cup Thursday. I'ts about sharing the things that make you happy. I'd love if you shared some time!
    hugs,
    Jann
