Baking Help, Yes Please

It never fails. I begin to gather ingredients for chocolate chip cookies or oatmeal cookies and when I get to the brown sugar, it's hard as a rock. Ughhhhh!

I've tried sealing it in a freezer bag, still a rock. I've read to keep a slice of bread in the bag, but we make our own bread, and if you've ever made your own bread before, I'm just too selfish with my "labor of love" to waste a slice in the brown sugar bag! So what to do? Here's a super fast option, and I always love me a good SUPER FAST option! Place your rock brown sugar clump in the microwave along with a bowl of warm water.

Set the timer to one minute, and tap your foot as you wait {that last part is very important :)},

then, open the microwave and behold a miracle. Soft brown sugar awaits you. Yay!

If yours isn't quite soft enough yet, zap it 30 seconds longer and then check. You can thank me the next time you want to bake oatmeal cookies!
